"Gruss vom Kaiser-Jubiläums-Huldigungs-Festzug, Wien 1908" color postcard with signed C. Benesch art, mailed 1908 with Austrian stamp to Abbazia (now in Italy), trivial wear at two corners. This parade celebrated the Kaiser's 60th year on the throne. $8.00 rap

"Gruss vom / Stabenfest Nördlingen" showing a girl's school marching with flags in front of the Hotel Krone; unused color post card, Chr. Strauss 2462, back paper browning evenly with age (circa 1910), good edges. Stabenfest is a local Bavarian celebration in May that dates back into the 15th century. All school children & their teachers march in a parade with staffs (Staben) decorated with flowers, ribbons & flags. For some reason it is an uncommon subject for postcards. $20.00 bfggp

He commanded the 4th Army mentioned in the caption till the end of World War I, and later served as a one-time member of the supreme war council. $8.00 am(f)wgp

Two almost complete MR 4 07 / BRITISH POST OFFICE / SMYRNA hand cancels, one tying one-penny stamp overprinted LEVANT, on color postcard mailed to Ohio. Front: "Salut de Constantinople. / Yildiz-Kiosque et la revue militaire 9538" showing a military parade with spectators seen from a high vantage point. Mild corner wear, light toning in the front sky, small spot near left back edge obscures nothing. $35.00 tp-b

Uncaptioned real photo postcard showing a horse-drawn flower-decorated cart full of dressed-up children, obviously for a parade, bearing the advertising sign 'HOFFSTODT'S / CITY GREEN HOUSES', sepia-tone post card from Mossholder's Studio in Shelby Ohio, light browning of the paper. The Mansfield Telephone Company serviced Shelby; its 1902 directory for Shelby lists W. A. Hoffstodt's residence at 22 Sharon. Push-pin damage has taken two small chunks out of the bottom edge (neither anywhere near the image) & just nicked the top edge twice; framing would easily obscure that difficulty. The best Richland County Ohio postcard we have ever seen.
