France to New York, spots of toning in front caption area, toned back, edge wear includes
a couple dings, long crease at one corner, mild wear at another corner. The last
four-stacker, she was requisitioned for troop transport during World War II, bringing home

Seven real photo postcards, documenting a transatlantic voyage, with the ship sometimes referred to as Princess Irene in the captions for the English-speaking passengers. The year is 1912, which we get from all 7 captions. We see: a group of well-dressed male passengers standing by a ship life raft (upper left), a man & woman reclining in solitude between lifeboats with bilingual "No admittance" sign (2 similar but different--upper right & lower right), deck with several passengers & funnels & rigging (middle middle), the wake of the ship (lower left), a well-dressed couple near two large funnels (middle left), and a view from the forecastle including 2 smokestacks (middle right). During World War I the Prinzess Irene became the USS Pocahontas, a US Navy transport ship. After that war she sailed again under a German flag for NDL.
